Volunteers required for Third Annual National Pet Food Drive


Required volunteers to assist accumulate pet food throughout the third annual National Pet Food Drive starting on October 28 till November 11, 2012. Pet owners can register online to volunteer at several of Petco's stores countrywide to support the two-week drive and assist customers to gain additional knowledge regarding the constant Pet Food Bank course.

For the second year in a row, Pepco has partnered with Volunteer Match to give pet enthusiasts around the country an easy way to volunteer in support of the pet food drive, as well as find other volunteer opportunities in their area. Best Friends Animal Society is again showing its support of the national food drive by mobilizing its nationwide network of volunteers to register for the event and help drive awareness of the program.

"Petco and the Petco Foundation have gathered and distributed over 1.5 million pounds of pet food and litter to families in require ever since the national food bank program started in 2010, and our volunteers are the significant part of the program's achievement in keeping pets well-nourished and with the families who adore them in the face of harsh financial period," said Paul Jolly, Executive Director of the Petco Foundation.

Volunteer opening are open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the pet food drive. To list yourself as a food drive volunteer, visit petco.volunteermatch.org and choose Petco Foundation Pet Food Drive. Once listed, volunteers can select a Petco store locality and suitable occasion.

Every pet food drive volunteers will be given guidance on how to extend other pet owners in maintaining of the contributions. Moreover as a thank you, every volunteer will get a $5 off Petco coupon and a opportunity to succeed a $500 Petco shopping spree for their preferred food bank offered by the Petco Foundation.

The entire Petco stores have selected pet food baskets in position for year-round collection. all store has combined with a local food bank or animal well being group to contribute pet food and litter directly to economically strained pet parents in that store's area.
